The Cuphead Show! is a fantastical journey back in time to the classic animation stylings of the early to mid-1900s. Paying enormous respect toward the retro-style beat ‘em up video-game, Cuphead (2017) and making for a nostalgia fueled journey down memory lane due to the mesmerizing animation. The game didn’t have voice actors attached but the show cast perfectly to encapsulate what these characters should sound like – Tru Valentino is Cuphead and Frank Todaro is Mugman – their voices will become synonymous with these characters for years to come. 

The Cuphead Show! is simple, yet brilliant – with a runtime of 15 minutes an episode this journey is short but ever so sweet. Ridiculously charming, undeniably aimed at both fans of older animation and the videogame itself, The Cuphead Show! Is the greatest videogame to screen adaptation thus far and it looks like it may stay in the spotlight for some time.
